Aziza Albou Traoré –
Founder & CEO
Aziza moved from France to the United States in 2009 and started as an account manager at The Network Journal, a business magazine. She held various positions, from marketing to writing and programming, for major international media (Jeune Afrique, Forbes, Africa 24). In 2011, she became the first representative for Groupe Jeune Afrique in North America and opened their office in New York City. She recognized the need for a more positive and accurate representation of emerging markets abroad, and the importance for these markets to handle media exposure more professionally. Aziza thus started providing communication advisory services between Africa and the United States. With AZ Media, she aims to extend her services to international level. Aziza has a master’s degree in communication from the French Institute of Press in Paris. When living in France, she was in charge of the financing and production for a contemporary art center. In 2013, she completed a program of broadcast journalism at the New York Film Academy.
Glynis Loizeau –
Glynis Loizeau has lived and worked as a writer in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Paris. Following eight years as the PR and communication manager at The Africa Report in Paris, responsible for the development and promotion of the magazine, she now specialises in Public Relations for French and international business and political clients. With a solid international media, business and institutional network and working relationships with the international media, Glynis uses her strong writing and strategic skills to develop and implement PR campaigns. She also researches and writes investment guides to promote private investment in Africa and, in 2015 ran the English communication campaign for presidential candidate Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, now president of Burkina Faso. Alongside these main business activities, Glynis also works as a script doctor for French screenwriters and film makers, advising on storylines, strengthening dialogue and supervising voice over recordings. Glynis’s is a native English speaker and is fluent in French. She lives in Paris and Rennes.
Geet Bhatt -
Geet Bhatt is an investor, advisor and entrepreneur from the United States. He brings six years of experience as a financier with a background in investment banking and principal investing in the energy sector having completed over US$4 billion of transaction in the United States, South America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. He has previously worked at KawiSafi Ventures, the International Finance Corporation and Marathon Capital. He brings hands-on experience of working with the Boards and Management teams of emerging market companies to scale and grow. In addition, he has advised companies and governments throughout Sub-Saharan Africa on energy sector strategy, development matters and media relations. He graduated with honors from Emory University and is pursuing an MBA at The Wharton School.
Leonie Perron -
Canada Managing Director
Leonie Perron is a private sector development professional, who has also acquired a valued expertise in project management and event planning. The specific sectors where she thrives the most include: business strategy, non-governmental organizations (NGO), information technologies and communication (ITC) as well as mining and food services industries. She has held many managing positions within the private sector in Canada and Africa with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams on site and remotely. Over the years, she has developed strong governmental and institutional relations, which led her to contribute to structuring public-private partnerships, manage high-level collaborations and influence policy.
Leonie Perron has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Modern Languages from the University of Ottawa and holds a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution from Saint-Paul University. She speaks French, English and Spanish and has a basic understanding of Portuguese. She has extensive experience in assisting and partnering with youth and particularly young adults through diverse mentorship programs. In 2016, she was appointed by the Quebec Minister of Education to sit on the Board of Directors of the Saint-Laurent College.
